Altering terrain, like digging and deforesting has an effect values like temperature and moisture. I started using the "potential" yield on the map to better plan my planing area's around the places that are that have high potiential values. If a plant doesnt fit the area's conditions then it will need a lot of "space", I cant grow any tomato's near my house as the temperature of the soil is ~12.4 C with 35% moisture event planting one in the open is "very crowded".But i can plant the bulb planst one next to another with "ample" room in alternating rows, although after some temperature drops I had to change it to one block grass speration in each direction to maintain this. After spending the weekend planting and gathering data on the temperature, moisture requirements of each plant I found that the "spacing" is a product of the enviroment.
